My personal quotes on writing:

Everything is a rough draft until you hit ‘send’.

Just as I am, likewise, a rough draft.

Always room for editing, until one day when I am ‘sent’ to Heaven!

God is the greatest author ever known to mankind- the Author and perfector of our faith!

He’s also a pretty great illustrator too!

Having the Holy Spirit is like having spell check on the inside-

When we do something wrong, the Holy Spirit underlines it in red,

letting you know there’s a mistake that needs to be corrected.

I Need to Change My Mind!

“Listen to your mother! How many times have I told you that? Why won’t you listen? I just told you that! You did not just make that mess?” Sound like anyone you know? Perhaps you? Sometimes I feel like I’ve said something over and over and it’s still not getting through. I wonder how many times God feels like this with us? I wonder if He’s thinking, didn’t I just ask you to do this? Didn’t I already tell you that? Uh oh. Looks like you’ve made a mess. Although, the Lord is much more gracious with us than we can be towards our own children at times. I am so thankful that God has left us with His Word, yet If we don’t read it and meditate on it then we won’t really know what He asks of us or even what He thinks about us.

My friend and I were talking the other day about our thoughts. How many times have we said things like, “This is just too hard” or “There is no way I can do all of this” or “I just don’t think I can do one more thing”. What’s happening here? We are speaking negativity into our spirit man. What do you suppose would happen if every time we had a negative thought, we ran to Gods Word to see what He thinks about it. For example: “I just can’t do this”. Ok, God’s Word says I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. (reference) Ok, what about this one: “I just can’t do one more thing”, or I just feel so weak and tired. Psalms 28:7- the Lord is my strength and my shield. Or 2nd Cor. 12:10 When I am weak He is strong.

I have to tell you I have always thought myself to be a pretty positive person. I love to encourage others. It’s funny how sometimes we see ourselves with tinted glasses. I started listening to some of my self talk and I’m like, “where did this come from” or “did I just think that?” Because I will be the first to tell someone “you can so do this” or “never give up”. But what about in my thought life? Little stuff just creeps in my head like, no, that won’t work. Or have you ever done this- the doorbell rings and you catch yourself saying uh oh. Like get ready, someone wants something! You know, when you are kind of dreading something might happen. Or what about this. You look at the calendar and see that you have a super busy week ahead. Nothing bad, just busy. Already, your stomach begins to turn and your dreading what is to come. Instead of rejoicing in the many opportunities and saying bring it Lord, you’ve already began to fear them. Oh I just know I’m going to be tired. And the more you meditate on this the more your attitude becomes sour..and tired! How radical do you think our lives would change if we decided to line up our thoughts and our words and our actions to Gods word?

I encourage you to keep a notebook, I personally am huge on journaling. Every time you catch yourself thinking or mumbling or saying something negative, I dare you to go straight to Gods word. Write in your notebook the negative that was in your head and then write what Gods Word says about. Especially some of you that would never tell a soul, but have a negative self image. The next time you tell yourself nobody cares, go see what Gods word says about that. Or I’m fat. Hunny, you could never weigh any more or any less to make God love you any more than He already does at this very moment!! Or ‘I’m too this or I’m too that”. God doesn’t make mistakes. Look it up. It’s His Word. His Word is truth. His Word is powerful and His Word in your spirit will bring transformation in your life!

Don’t you just love to be around those people who walk in and light up a room? They are filled with peace and joy bubbling over. Not perfect, but there’s just something about them. I have a feeling it’s God’s Word. I mean just think about it. What if you walked around saying this scripture in your head- I am the head and not the tail. I am blessed going in and blessed coming out. I have the favor of God on my life. The Lord has anointed me for such a time as this. The joy of the Lord is my strength. I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me strength! I have a feeling you would be bubbling over too!

This week ask the Lord to show you thoughts that are not from Him. Write them down. Challenge those thoughts with Gods Word. The enemy seeks around like a roaring lion seeking who he may devour. Girlfriends, he will not have the opportunity to devour your life if you meditate on Gods words instead of believing the lies of the enemy. All I have to say is satan watch out, because Gods girls + Gods Word = Gods Power in your life!
